REVIEW: Oral-B Pro 5000 SmartSeries with Bluetooth® Connectivity

So it’s been awhile since I’ve had this product, but I’m finally coming over to share my experience with the Oral-B Pro 5000 SmartSeries with Bluetooth® Connectivity.

I’ve never owned an electric toothbrush and in turn I wasn’t certain what to expect. I’ve had my share of waterpiks, so having an electric toothbrush was a completely new experience for me.

Using the toothbrush, I have to admit, my teeth felt a lot more clean than when I was using the traditional toothbrush. I had no problems with it recharging and it was fairly self explanatory in how to do it. The toothbrush came with one head, but did include a case to carry the toothbrush, and a case for additional attachments.

The part I liked the least was the Bluetooth technology. I found myself not bothering to use it towards the end. The majority of the time, it meant that I needed to remember to log into the app to log in the time. I didn’t like that. Brushing my teeth isn’t always a timed event, that happens every day at a certain time. And me, who tends to misplace my phone with it on silent, it became a very frustrating time.

The good thing about the app is that it will record my time spent with the toothbrush, brushing. But really and truly, I don’t care. It’s not a time of the day I enjoy, and with so many other things to take the time to do, this isn’t one of them that is high on my list.

But really, for those who are totally into keeping track of everything, this would be a great product for them. I’m discovering, I am a lot less maintenance and prefer not to be tracked by my phone with the mundane parts of my life.

Take a selfie of myself with this toothbrush in use was a little difficult, and my husband refused to stand still. No wait, he shut the door on me and refused to open it until the phone and I were out of sight. Of course, with him using the phone, it added the experience of his using it to my bluetooth app experience. Spoilsport!

All in all, would I consider purchasing this in the future? Possibly. But it would be a toothbrush purchase only. The Bluetooth technology, while sounding great and awesome initially, is really something that overtime I would decrease in doing.

I received this item free from Oral-B® in exchange for an honest review.
