This was a different book than I am used to when it comes to Karen Witemeyer, it reminded me initially of a book by Jen Turano with the introduction of a pig. Oops, I mean wild pig. Even so, a PIG!
So I admit, that threw me off my game because I couldn’t help but wrinkle my nose at ever reference regarding the pig, although it did have a roll within the book. But still!
Despite my initial misgivings, the story proceeded and I pushed myself to continue. It was a lot of play by play and then we were introduced to a new character. From here on, the story picked up and I could not wait to finish the book. The moments I wasn’t reading, I was thinking about the story. It beckoned me and I obeyed.
That said, despite my initial hesitations with a story that involves the loving care of a pig, I found that I really, really enjoyed the book.
